After 23 years of service for Goldenfields Water County Council, Mr Tony Goodyer has made the decision to retire from his role as Operations Manager.

“When you know, you know” stated Mr Goodyer.  He continued “I’m grateful for all the opportunities and my time at Goldenfields Water, working with all the different crews over the years, however I’m very much looking forward to retirement, spending more time with my wife and family and making the sea change to the mid north coast.”

Commencing with Goldenfields in 2001 as the Work Health and Safety Coordinator, Mr Goodyer moved into the relieving Production and Distribution Group Leader, before this role was split in 2016 into the two managerial roles seen today, Production and Services Manager and Operations Manager.

During Mr Goodyer’s lengthy time serving Goldenfields Water and under his 8 years as Operations Manager, Mr Goodyer has coordinated many significant projects including the construction phase of the Mandamah Rural Water Supply Scheme, an enormous undertaking that expanded the network by an additional 180km, providing new connections for rural customers.

In addition to the expansion of Goldenfields Water’ supply network, Mr Goodyer has delivered over 300 kilometres of major trunk renewals, including the current Thanowring Road project near Temora and Fishers Lane at Weethalle.

Mr Goodyer has managed a significant portion of Goldenfields employees during his time at Goldenfields Water, currently overseeing 4 teams within the Operations group and chaired various committees including Council’s previous Health and Safety Committee.

Interim General Manager of Goldenfields Water Mr Geoff Veneris thanked Mr Goodyer for his service "we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Tony for his dedication and commitment over the past 23 years. Tony wears his heart on his sleeve and was always able to deliver commitments for the communities we serve with great success.

Tony’s contributions to our organisation have established a fantastic foundation for a new leadership group moving into the future and his presence around the workplace will be missed.

We would like to wish Tony, Sue and the family all the best as they embark on their new chapter of life” said Mr Veneris.

Goldenfields Water have already welcomed newly appointed Operations Manager, Mr Alex Dahlenburg earlier this month.  Mr Dahlenburg joins Goldenfields Water with a wealth of knowledge and experience.
